Lisa Winjum began her tenure at Planned Parenthood Hudson Peconic (PPHP) and the PPHP Action Fund in March 2005 as the Director, Public Affairs and Communications. In September 2008, she was appointed Director, Public Policy and Advocacy and in July, 2012 named Vice President, Public Affairs. In this role she oversees national, statewide, and local government relations and advocacy activities, media relations, communications, and marketing. She also directs the PPHP Action Fund, spearheading the development of its political strategy, communications, and fundraising activities.
Prior to joining PPHP, she was the Director of Public Policy and Communications at the Connecticut Sexual Assault Crisis Services, spearheading government relations, lobbying, and advocacy efforts.
Ms. Winjum received her Juris Doctor, magna cum laude, from the Quinnipiac University Law School where she was an Associate Editor of the Law Review. She was admitted to practice in California in 1994 and in Connecticut in 1995. She received a Bachelors of Arts degree, from The College of New Rochelle in 1986 and was honored with the college’s Ursula Laurus citation in 2006.
Ms. Winjum was a member Board of Directors of the New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault (NYSCASA) from 2007 to 2013, serving as President from 2011-2013. She served on the board of the College of New Rochelle Castle Gallery from 2004 -2008.
