Breaking the School to Prison Pipeline: Statewide Strategy Session

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

In this workshop, you will learn how students in New York State and across the country are being pushed out of school and into the criminal justice system with lifelong implications. You will hear from activists and advocates who are working to keep our schools safe while shutting down the school to prison pipeline. Their strategy: to introduce and pass state legislation supporting mediation programs as an alternative to criminalization. Come to learn about this bill and discuss how best to engage parents, students, community members, teachers, and elected officials in this campaign.
