Rethinking House Parties To Build Power On The Ground

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule and see who's attending!

November elections are right around the corner which means engaging, exciting and turning out voters. How can we counter the cynicism and apathy that keeps too many potential voters from going to the polls on election day? A key tool for success is house parties. We all think of house parties as a way for candidates to fund their campaigns - and this workshop will help you plan a successful fundraising house party. But, house parties are not just for the wealthy. In fact, they play a critical role in bringing potential voters together with candidates. A good house party will enable key community leaders and influencers to meet, question and share information about local concerns with a candidate. And if the candidate is properly prepared, a house party can result in a significant boost in voter engagement on Election Day and beyond. Come to this workshop to learn about successful models and about mistakes to avoid; and begin to plan your own local house parties with input and suggestions from your peers.
